Pro Kabaddi League 2015 – Everything You Need to Know!

After the phenomenal success of IPL, it was the exciting sport kabaddi which came into limelight in India with Pro Kabaddi League Season 1 in 2015. After the successful run of season 1 of the league, the second season is ready to hit the ground this year. PKL, as it is popularly known, is going to kick off in Mumbai this month. The grand event will comprise of 60 matches in all, which will be competed among eight teams from eight cities of the country. The league will entertain Indians for a period of 37 days, from 18^th July to 23^rd August, 2015.

Participating Teams of Pro Kabaddi League 2015

PKL features eight teams from eight major cities of the country, competing for the title and trophy, which was lifted by Jaipur Pink Panthers last season 2014. Here is the detailed information about all these 8 team names, owners, coaches and captains:

Bengal Warriors

The prestigious team from West Bengal is owned by Future Group and captained by Nilesh Shinde while Raj Narain Sharma is the coach of the team.

Bengaluru Bulls

As the name suggests, this kabaddi team hails from the city of Bengaluru and is owned by Kosmik Global Media. Manjit Chillar is the skipper and Randhir Singh is the coach of the team.

Dabang Delhi

The owner of the Delhi team participating in Pro Kabaddi League is Do It Sports Management. Jasmer Singh is leading the team while the responsibility of training it lies with Arjun Singh.

Jaipur Pink Panthers

Jaipur Pink Panthers is the defending champion of PKL Season 1. It is owned by the leading Bollywood actor, Abhishek Bachchan. Navneet Gautam is the team captain and Kasinathan Baskaran is the coach.

Patna Pirates

Patna Pirates is the team which represents the city of Patna and is owned by Rajesh Shah. The team is led by Rakesh Kumar and coached by RS Khokhar.

Puneri Paltan

The next PKL team comes from Pune and gets the name of Puneri Paltan. The team owner is Insurekot Sports while the skipper is Wazir Shah and coach is Ramphal Kaushik.

Telugu Titans

Telugu Titans is a PKL team owned by Veera Sports. Rajguru Subramaniam is the team skipper while the coach’s responsibility is fulfilled by J Udayakumar.

U Mumba

U Mumba is the Unilazer Sports owned team, which is being led by Anup Kumar and Ravi Shetty is the coach of the team. U Mumba is the runners up team of the preceding season and it was beaten by Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Finale at the score of 35-24.

The matches will be held at eight venues across the country, namely Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Patna and Jaipur. Each team will play each other twice during the event on home and away format. When a city will be hosting the matches, it will be doing so for 4 days and its home team will be playing against 4 teams. All the matches played during the Pro Kabaddi League 2015 will be telecast live on Star Sports Channel.
