Got the knack for cooking? Well, then you must be waiting for Master Chef Season 6, right?
Master Chef India is the biggest competitive cooking show in the country. The show is aired on Star Plus and offers the greatest of chances for a person who wishes to showcase one’s cooking talent. Started in 2010, MasterChef is the Indian version of the UK based Master Chef produced by Franc Roddam, English director & producer. Till now the show has spanned five seasons, the last one completed just recently. Winner of its first season Pankaj Bhadouria is a widely recognized name now. You must have seen her in Knorr advertisements. Also, in 2013, the show branched out to children too as Junior Master Chef Swaad Ke Ustaad. Anyhow, below mentioned are the details about how to participate in the show. Read on.
To be eligible to apply for MasterChef India, you must have following qualifications.
1. Age Limit
Your age must be or above 18 years as on the date of registration.
You must be a legal citizen of India and should hold valid identity proofs for the same. Though you can be a residence of some foreign country but you must be a citizen of India. In Season 5 too, the show was taken to London and Dubai too.
Though there is a third one too. And that is, you must love cooking! No, we aren’t kidding. MasterChef is really serious about cooking.
Registration & Audition Process
Though till now, the show didn’t offer online registration method, the details of Season 6 have not been disclosed yet. To get notified about the details, stay updated with us.
The process of on-site registration and audition process is divided into following steps.
1. Stay Logged on to Audition Dates
The auditions for MasterChef India Season 6 are expected to begin around June or July 2017. To stay updated about the dates, stay tuned with Star Plus’s website or simply log on to this link.
The auditions are mostly held in Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. If you are applying from any of these cities, you’ll have to register yourself at the audition venue only. The venue detail of respective states will be provided along with the dates. After reaching the venue, you will have to first fill up the registration form on the spot.
For other cities, a phone number is provided through which you can call and do your registration for MasterChef India.
When you are applying on the spot, remember to carry two to three passport size photographs along with a government approved Photo Identity Proof like Aadhar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, etc. for verification of your details.
3. Cooking Round
Following by registration, you will have to wait for your audition turn, perhaps a few hours or a day, sometimes even two or more. Don’t lose cool. It’ll be worth it in the end. Auditions are taken on individual basis. You will have to cook a dish of your choice and present it to the judges.
After tasting your dish and analysing it from different angles, they will decide whether or not you are shortlisted for the first round. Mostly, the decision is based considering all the factors like taste, presentation and innovation. In the first round, 30 contestants are selected. Next, 16 of them are filtered into the show to start with. The days following see the competition between these contestants. Each week, one or two of them are eliminated; the final one remaining emerges as the winner.
The winner of MasterChef India is awarded with a prize money of INR 1 crore and an opportunity to publish your own recipe book.
